UNAR’s COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION
At the United Nations Association of Rochester, NY, we welcome students, interns, volunteers and board members from different backgrounds regardless of sexual orientation, religious affiliation, nationalities. We greatly value diversity and are committed to promoting inclusion and diversity within our community and beyond. As advocates of the United Nations, we seek to actively promote these initiatives within our programs, our partner organizations and beyond.
Rochester historically has and continues to serve as a sanctuary city and we welcome immigrants and refugees from diverse backgrounds. A lot of our community partner organizations work directly to help provide housing, food, healthcare access, language lessons, etc for our refugees. We also have initiatives aimed at helping children from underrepresented communities within Rochester and we work to provide inclusion and equity across all of our programs.
We understand there is still work that needs to be done to further promote these beautiful initiatives and we pledge our best efforts to do so.
