Model United Nations 2022 ! COME JOIN US ! (IN PERSON)

United Nations Association of Rochester (UNAR) hosts an annual Model UN Conference each spring in Rochester, NY. Model UN is a simulation of the UN General Assembly. UNAR brings together 200-500 “college ready” high school students of diverse backgrounds who come from different races, ages, geographical residences within Monroe County to the St. John Fisher College’s campus. Students become delegates representing member states, making speeches, preparing draft resolutions, negotiating and resolving conflicts, while harnessing “international cooperation” to resolve problems world’s toughest problems such as environmental sustainability, climate change, nuclear disarmament, human rights, refugee crisis and global health epidemics. UNAR’s Model UN conference enables students to build relationships, communicate, utilize the power of teamwork, diplomacy and cooperation to create proposals and resolutions for complex problems ranging from human rights to health epidemics so that they are inspired to create positive social change.
